The Boys (35) - Polaris

Mailcall from a few weeks ago. Cool surf that was only available overseas. To seperate from the powerpop band, I am using the discogs classification - The Boys (35)

Mothers Of Invention- Help I'm A Rock / How Could I Be Such A Fool

I don't remember where I fouund this Mothers 45 but I know I must have been amazed. I listen to this and I doubt there was one radio station in this country that played this. And the fact they pressed a stock copy is absolutely amazing. I found the RSD copy real cheap so that to me was an easy pickup. I know Zappa is not everyone's cup of tea and his music can be way out there.

Pan Earth - The Mandingo

Hurricane Helene is missing us but we will get a little rain. I can handle that. I am not much of a Disco fan but I did like this one. I like the minimalist label as well as the name of the band

Wreckless Eric- Whole Wide World

This is one that was on my want list for years. I managed to score a copy in a way cool Stiff Box set of 45s last year. I love the US double LP this was on

Wilco- Passenger Side

Our Wednesay Pick a shelf entry. I offer a rare promo 10" LP by Wilco chosen at random by follower Mello. I was/am a huge Uncle Tupelo fan and was fortunate to see them live in Boulder Colorado twice. I was even on their mailing list and have a few flyers from them somewhere. I was pretty sad when they broke up but satisfied those two talented singers formed 2 fine groups in Wilco and Son Volt. While I have never seen Wilco live, I did see Son Volt last year.- but the venue was pretty bad with no sitting area and since my wife has physical issues it was pretty misearable for her. I bought (and still have) a copy of the red vinyl debut from Wilco and when this was released to radio I managed to score a copy. Reprise put out this series of promo releases called Soil X Samples and at some point I had everyone of them and this was the last one in the series.  I always thought this punky version of Passenger Side was interesting although I do prefer accoustic versions of it.

Phil Seymour - Precious To Me / Baby It's You

I was driving this weekend and I heard the B side of this on The Underground Garage. I forgot what a great 45 this was. I bought it when I was in high school but got rid of it years ago. A few years ago I picked up a bunch of 45s and this copy was in it and I thought how stupid I was to get rid of it so I put it back in my collection. I'm sure I have a better copy of the picture sleeve somewhere. Powerpop at it's finest- I also have the album this came from. Phil died way too young

Rev. Cleophus Robinson - There's Only One Bridge

It's so easy to be negative and trust me my mind and words want to go there...but I am not going to go there. Instead I am going to go the Rev. Cleophus Robinson route.

Five Hungry Men - Bustin Rocks / We Belong Together

Up early as I know an estate sale that will have records. I am not anticipating anything significant but you never known. Here is another killer 45 received via mail order over the past week. I did not know of this one but once I heard a snippet of the song I was sold.

The Tempests - The Way To A Man's Heart/ Out Of My Life

Is it really the end of September? This summer went way too quickly. I celebrate my 29th wedding anniversary on Sunday and my wife knows the way to my heart as she is going to let me go record shopping at this record warehouse sale. These Tempests 45's are so gooooooood.

XTC - No Thugs In Our House

Rainy day as we wind down the week. I do hope I get more play a game requests and Jesse is welcome to keep playing.
I need to set a schedule to upload XTC 45s. I won a few in an auction this week that should come this weekend.I have enough XTC 45s to go for some time. I've had this one 30+ years and as you can see with the tag I bought it at Wax Trax in Denver.

The Dream Syndicate - Tell Me When It's Over

Wednesday Album Spotlight. Thanks to Jesse, we had our 1st (and only I might add) Let's play a game entry. This was an album that quire frankly I had not played in years so I was happy it was the lucky winner. Looking at the price tag, I suspect I purchased this at Black and Read in Westminster Colorado in the early 90's before relocating to North Carolina. I have all the Dream Syndicate albums up until their 1st break up. I will admit this is not my favorite live Dream Syndicate LP. That would probably be the Live A Raji's release which I still have on CD when I bought it back in the day. It was re-released by Run Out on limited vinyl in 2017 and I was lucky to score a copy at a record store in Charlotte. So yesterday I put this on the turntable while I was working and I recorded several of the songs. I was tempted to post the 9 plus minute version of John Coltrane Stereo Blues but it's not my favorite version of this song.

Also, I did a preview of some Dream Syndicate back in 2010...forgot about that. I did a pretty good write up on them I might add

Greg Kihn Band - The Girl Most Likely

We lost Greg a few weeks back from Alzheimers Disease. I remembrer I was in high school when I first heard the Break Up song. Sometime later I found the promo 12" single. This past summer I picked up the promo 45 for The Girl Most Likely.

My little game has one response and I hope to record the song today for tomorrow. Will be a good one!

The Timers - No Go Showboat / Competition Coupe

Drag music on a rainy morning.  No walk for Cooper and I. This one arrived in the mail last week.I'm pretty sure this is not the correct sleeve but I was too lazy to dig for the green sleeve

The Elastik Band - Spazz ./ Paper Mache

Another Saturday...I need to run some errands this morning and I don't have a good feeling that I will get a chance to look for records...oh woe is me...I found this one the last time I spent some time on Saturday looking for records (within the last month). I found it in a very unlikely store so you never know where things will pop up.

I am hoping for some time this weekend to record some new mail order aquistions to the old circuit box. I love Mail Call

Herb Hardesty - Just A Little Bit Of Everything

I was up early but in slo motion none the less.No walk this morning as it is raining. My Friday's seem to be packed and busy at work. No relaxing around this joint. Seems like my job duties lately mirror the song title
