Want to play a game? The picture is of one of my record cabinet.s I do have more record shelves but this was a cabinet I bought 30 years ago specifically for albums..I later added the doors. The picture is also a bit old as the cabinet is quite full now. So what is the game, pick a shelf and a number. example- Left Shelf 3 album 29. It will get featured on a future Wednesday Deep cut.

 Another Saturday...I need to run some errands this morning and I don't have a good feeling that I will get a chance to look for records...oh woe is me...I found this one the last time I spent some time on Saturday looking for records (within the last month). I found it in a very unlikely store so you never know where things will pop up.

I am hoping for some time this weekend to record some new mail order aquistions to the old circuit box. I love Mail Call

Kiss - Nothin To Lose / Kissin Time

I picked this up in my recent dig of a closed record store. It's not everyday that you find an early Kiss 45 from 1974. As a matter of fact, there were more than one of these and I snagged them all. I never was a huge Kiss fan but some of those 70's 45s they put out are pretty darn good. 

Rod Stewart - Dixie Toot

I was so busy this morning and unable to do a post till after work. Not a Rod Stewart fan but did like this song. Once upon a time I had a girlfriend named Dixie....won't go down that volatile road...lol

The Muffs - Big Mouth

 Nice crisp morning for a walk. I love summer and it is clear fall is rapidly approaching. I always loved the Muffs and still have their OG lp's on Reprise. Unfortunately we lost Kim a few years back

The Electric Prunes - Sanctus / Credo

I found a copy of the Mass in F Minor LP a few years back and it really is an amazing album. I am not sure what Reprise really thought about it but I am glad they put it out. This is a nice promo 45 from it. 

The Bees - Baby Let Me Follow You Down / Forget Me Girl

 Covers week conclucdes with another pick up from this year. I always liked the Animals version butthis one is pretty good as well. Label has some wear and it had scuffs and scratches but I thought it cleaned up pretty well considering.  

The Entertainers- I Wanna Be (Your Everything) / Mr. Pitiful

Cover week continues. I love those JCP 45s and upgraded this copy a few years ago

 Cover week continues with an obscure cover of the Buffalo Springfield song.. I picked this one up late last year.

Wednesday deep Album Cuts with an obscure covers album. I have had this for quite a few years and quite honestly I have no rememberance of buying it. It is very possible this was in the huge auction lp buy I had. I do remember pulling it out of a box a few years ago and was very happy once I did a little research. Killer album cover and killer name.

I buy any cover version of this song I can find, When this does pop up it seems to be only a promo.

Covers week continues. I am so thankful to have the day off. I was planning on grilling but it may rain but I am pretty sure I can figure out other ways to relax. I have no surf ready but do have these cool covers ready for your consumption. Troggs and Donovan covers...outstanding

Elvis Presley - Joshua Fit The Battle

I think I need to do another cover version week as I seem to have recorded quite a few over the past month. This was adapted from an African American spiritual so I would call it a cover. I am not a big Elvis fan but his gospel releases were spectacular. Elvis had this wonderful spiritual side (angel on the shoulder) and then he had this decadent side (the devil on the shoulder). The battle in this world is real, whether you are a superstar or a regular person.  On a picture sleeve side, this has to be one of my favorite picture sleeves from Elvis.
