Bassetts - So Bad

Left early for a couple of estate sales and the flea market. The 2nd estate sale I found some nice 45's for a buck a piece including my first Elvis Sun- Good Rockin Tonight - an original! WOW. The rest of the day was down hill from there but I did pick up a few interesting things that should make this blog someday

The Rubies featuring Dave Woods - JCP - That's Alright Baby

What an incredibly long week and I had 2 days off! I believe I will enjoy exercising at the Flea Market tomorrow. Here is an obscure JCP 45. The sound starts out rough but it gets better. Not a lot of these floating out there

Higher Elevation - Summer Skies

I have not done any record shopping in a few weeks. My plan is to hit the flea market next Saturday as I had too many projects this weekend. Today I bought a portable air conditioner for the upstairs to replace the old window unit and installed it. Tomorrow I will retile the kitchen floor. Tonight chicken, pork and veggie Kabobs on the grill, a beer and a little quality time with the wife.  For your listening pleasure, a little catchy tune from a Denver Colorado band.

My favorite MM 45- both sides are killer

Rip Chords - Hey Little Cobra

It has been nice and warm the last 4 or 5 days. I plan on hitting the beach this year since I don't have to go to class on Saturday's any longer.  Keeping with my Monday instrumental, drag and surf theme, here is a smash hit (which I usually don't post here but....) it is a wickedly cool song and who can beat the promo color vinyl.

Cliff Nobles - My Love Is Getting Stronger

I was thinking today how much music has the ability to shape us, how it can reflect our mood. For example, if I listen to Van Morrison when I am in a sullen mood I find it can intensify my mood and I can get more introspective. In a lot of ways, these two blogs are sort of a "soundtrack for my life". It represents a sample of music I have found that I like, some of it is more meaningful to me than others. It is not a complete representation because I have limited the scope of these 2 blogs so you are not going to get other songs that mean a lot to me (such as Crystal Blue Persuasion by Tommy James & The Shondells) because quite frankly you can turn on the radio daily and hear it. Your not going to hear William Ackerman instrumental new age guitar songs that relax me, or general album tracks. I do on occasion upload a song that was a hit but my overall intent is to upload something that is more obscure, or at least obscure to the mainstream. I am pleased by the knowledge base some of my followers post and enjoy the feedback and tidbits.

Monarchs - Needles and Pins

I had an excellent day today. I was up early to drive to Wilmington so I could take the Social Work Licensure test. After I passed the test....let me pause to write that again...I Passed the Test... I went record shopping and found a dozen 45's and lp's in really nice condition.
I bought a box of records last year that contained 2 copies of this but unfortunately one has a nasty crack in it.
