Dinosaur Jr - The Wagon Sub Pop Sunday

Sub Pop Sunday. One of my faves from the early days of Sub Pop glory. I was on a vacation road trip and happened to be in Seattle when this was released so my white vinyl copy was purchased in Seattle. Later found out about the pink and purple versions and snagged them up after searching far and wide. The white vinyl pressing was about 10,000 copies while the purple version was limited to about 200 copies. There are no accurate numbers on the pink version but it is most likely a few hundred as well. Dinosaur Jr. is still round and have a new LP coming out in a week or so [I have pre ordered a purple vinyl version]

Afghan Whigs - Sister Brother Sub Pop

Sub Pop Sunday #2. The Afghan Whigs.. Some of the most powerful music to slam out during the grunge era. I saw them in concert a few times, the last time was most notable. It was at the Mercury Cafe in Denver Colorado. Several of the songs that night eventually were put on the What is Jail Like release [I have a promo 12" for that release]. So without more interruption,  here is one of my favorites with a copy of the promotional video as well

Beat Happening - Red Head Walking Sub Pop

Wow, it's been a month since my last upload. My laptop has been having problems with charging and I'm waiting for the repair shop to get the part in. Damn thing is only 2 years old. Anyway, I'm working off older stuff recorded and scanned or working with my All In One Computer...what a pain.

One of the things I had planned since making this blog more inclusive of my collection was my plan to share some of my favorite Sub Pop 45's. I've been collecting Sub Pop since pretty much their beginning. I have a World Class Sub Pop collection [yeah, kinda of bragging but I have pretty much everything but the Nirvana Love Buzz 45]. Each Sunday I plan a Sub Pop upload. Today's is one of my all time favorite 45s. I bought the black and red vinyl version new in 1990. I found my 1st green vinyl about 10 years ago and recently scored another copy on green which is slightly different than my marble version. The Green Vinyl copies have been known to be really pricey. I highly recommend Dreamy, the LP this song came from.
