Think - California (Is Getting So Heavy)

Hmmm....a Tuesday night heavy. I heard this 4 to 5 years ago on an online radio station 3WK (great station). I was able to luck into a copy not long afterwards. Another unknown group on Columbia records from the late 60's.

Loved that 45 when I was a kid. The man across the alley was a TV producer at the local ABC affiliate. He would chunk all kinds of 45s in the trash and I remember pulling this one out. Is the flip-side "Love, Love, Love, Love, Love"? If so I would enjoy a post of that one. I'll search your site to see if I'm missing it. Thanks much! Brings back some serious memories!

I think I would have made friends with him and told him I would take his trash out! The B side of this one is "It's A Good Thing". Glad you like the tunes.

This was this group's second and final Columbia single. (The first, #4-44627, was "Stop Runnin' Away" / "Faster Faster" - both sides of which were co-written by one Dick Monda a.k.a. "Daddy Dewdrop.") Listening to this, evidently these guys would not be the same Think that, in 1971, had their only hit with "Once You Understand" on Laurie Records.

Having heard this, I vastly prefer this to that "other" Think's one hit.
