Elfstone - Louisiana Teardrops

Kim Fowley had a wide variety of musical tastes. The songs he mentioned as his favorites seemed to be from his youth, notably to me was Whispering Bells [fantastic song by the way that IS in poppacool's collection]. Tonight's offering is his role as producer. I know nothing of this band and if he had any other relation to them. The B side is also cool but will be posted at a later date.

I found this, from a Kim Fowley interview posted here: https://davedimartino.wordpress.com/category/uncategorized/page/14/

--------
In the same place I did “Wild Thing” by Kathy Rich, who was Buddy Rich’s daughter, and that was St. John Green guys and Michael Lloyd, the famous bubble gum king, doing some arrangement–and while we were there during that time we did “Louisiana Teardrops” by Elfstone, who I met hitchhiking. They gave me a ride, I saw an acoustic guitar and they played “Louisiana Teardrops” and I said, “You get to make a record right now—I’m going to the studio—you want to make a record? Let’s go make one.”
--------

Heh, hitchhiking... Wouldn't that have been a trip to pick up Kim Fowley on some godforsaken back road, with his thumb out.

Thank you for finding the information on this song and group. I'm not sure I would have stopped and picked him up hitchhiking...lol....but I bet it would have been quite a scene. And thanks about the information on his funeral and service. I would go if I was in the area...I hope it is packed

Well, the funeral service & burial WERE packed. Family, friends, colleagues, associates AND fans. Lots of stories, some laughs & some tears.
I must say one thing -- Michael DeBarres is a class act. - A sincere heart & soulful dude. Adio, Senor Fowley!

Thank you for sharing about his funeral and thank you for going, especially for those of us that could not.
