The Third Bardo - I'm Five Years Ahead Of My Time & Rainbow Life

#1
I often hear this song on Little Steven's Underground Garage and each time I would hear it I would think how much I love this song. It's pricey and again I did not think I would get a copy, so let me paint you a picture of my reaction. It was a nice wonderful warm Saturday when it arrived into my hands. It had taken 3 of us to load the two huge plastic tubs filled with 45's into my car-one in my trunk and one on the back seat. I arrived home, went into the house to get some boxes I had upstairs as there was no way I could move the tubs due to how heavy they were. So I have the passenger side door open and I am sorting through 45's. Suddenly I come accross a pristine copy of this 45. I start laughing like crazy and I run into the house excitedly and tell my wife, "It's the Third Bardo 45, It's the Third Bardo 45."She looks at me like I'm nuts. What can I say, you don't find stuff like this everyday! Anyway, this amazing slice of heaven did not appear it had ever been touched. From what I can gather, this was only available as a promotional 45 and never touched the inside of a record shop.

Lucky bastard. Lee Moses, The Tamrons and The Third Bardo, all records I've been hunting down and you find them cheap. But I will say this: If I had a wife that was furious about me bringing tons of records into our home, she wouldn't be my wife for very long. Collecting lots and lots of records is part of the package, baby. If you don't like it, hit the road.

Yes, it was the find of a lifetime. My wife is pretty cool and has accepted my vinyl addiction. I guess she figures I could be boozing it up or chasing skirts.
