Dreams So Real - Red LIghts (Merry Christmas)

Day 9 of Christmas posts bring this wonderful little gem from a band that was from R.E.M.'s home town. I bought all the Dream So Real records back in the day. I had this one but who knows what I did with it and I picked it up again recently. I really need listen to their records again after the holidays

Dean Martin - The Christmas Blues

Day 7 brings us a 45 I picked up this year in the big closed record store purchase I made. This beauty was stored since 1972. Dean has a couple of very difficult Christmas 45s that sell for a nice price.

Commander Cody - Daddy's Drinking Up Our Christmas

Day 6 of Christmas posts brings us a little country ditty. I have quite a few 45s from Commander Cody but I really think I need to find some of their lp's to get the full effect of this band- what do you think? Any suggestions

Cheech and Chong - Santa And His Old Lady

Day 5 of Christmas posts brings this holiday not a song classic that I used to hear all over the radio.  Finally made it to the blog

John Bassette- The Christmas Season / Everyday Is Christmas From Now On

The 4th day of early Christmas brought an interesting little 45. I picked this up mailorder a few months ago just because it was a Christmas 45 and the label intrigued me. I was again happily surprised by this unique one. I put it in this cool little Christmas sleeve that I found in my sleeve box

Lou Christie - O Holy Night

Day three of Christmas posts gives us a difficult to find Lou Christie Chirstmas 45 and it has the extra bonus of being autographed. I managed to score this one mail order very very cheap.

I also want to congratulate Travis Hunter on his Heisman win. He has been such a joy to watch. I have suffered through 20+ years of mediocre /pathetic football from my Colorado Buffaloes and to finally have a coach and team that has heart and desire is so wonderful. May GOD continue to bless Coach Prime and the Buffaloes...SKO BUFFS!

The Joy Strings - We Three Kings of Orient Are / O Little Town Of Bethlehem

The 2nd Day of Christmas posts my Record Collection brought to me is an unexpected and exicted trinket of joy. I always pick up Christmas 45's and put them in a xmas box...I was not expecting anything special with this one and boy was I shocked and super happy by the caucaphony of sounds...Has that Eric Burden and The Animals vibe

Holly Cole Trio - I'd Like To Hitch A Ride With Santa Claus / Christmas Blues

The count down to Christmas has begun. On the First Day of early Christmas posts my Record Collection brought to me,  a little jazz & blues on green vinyl.  One of my favorites I picked up years ago but somehow each year I overlook so I decided to start out with this one.  I recorded it a few years ago and should have cleaned it to see if it would play better but I was lazy

The Uptowners - Vicki

My last post before the Christmas song barrage starts. I picked this killer 45 in the last month. Le Cam was distributed by Jamie so why not pair it with a nice Jamie sleeve

Various Artists - Battle of The Garages

I used to go to this amazing record store when I was an undergraduate at Colorado State University. I look back now and realize just how amazing the Finest Records in Ft. Collins was. They always had great deals...I pretty much started my Bruce Cockburn collection from them. They always had cheap cut out albums and $1 45's...I never had much money being a broke college student and always looked for the bargins. If I had a time machine I would go back to that store with a briefcase full of $. Sadly, they are no longer in existence and the world is worse off for it! Today's post was in their $1 bin and I took a chance just because of the cover. I did not know about any of these bands and was just blown away by it....guess it started my love for powerpop punk type of music as well as my love for the VOXX label. The cover versions made me want to find the originals

Another long awaited upload...Essential

The On and Ons - Hard To Say Goodbye / You And I

I picked this up a year ago from my friend Jesse. I had planned on uploading this little nice jingly powerpop alot earlier but just could not fit it in. I thought it would be a nice one for this wet Monday morning. Back in the day I used to buy everything on Get Hip. I still buy from their mailorder now and then.
I have my Christmas 45s finalized and the fun begins later this week.

Gospel Crusaders of Tarboro North Carolina - Because He Lives / I Found Him

I so enjoyed crate digging yesterday. It's amazing how therapeutic that is.  I always take a chance on these small label gospel 45s. There were so many Gospel Crusaders that they had to designate in their name where they were from

The Renegades - Cadillac

Coldest morning so far at 20 degrees. I'm going digging today at the closed record store. Have not been there since the summer so I am pretty excited about that. German 45 & PS picked up in a dig in September. Cover version but the Clash version is the definitive cover

Salty Miller - The Fox / One More Time

It was a chilly walk with the windchill this morning. I posted an obscure country 45 yesterday so today it is an obscure North Carolina Beach song. Salty Miller was the leader of The Monzas, which has graced this blog in the past

Bob Butler & The D.J.'s - 3 Miles South Of Town

Obscure Country Bopper that sounds like Jerry Lee
