Tommy Roe - Sweet Sounds

Happy New Years Eve. Another wonderful year of fantastic finds and I really can't wait to see what kind of digging 2025 brings. 

A few years ago I referenced how I am searching for evidence if one of Tommy's 45's was actually released in the USA as it is listed in his discography. I finally found the Tommy Roe letter I wrote so I thought why not end the year with some sweet sounds and a picture of the letter and autograph. The search continues. 

In the meantime, I thought I would run down some numbers for this blog this year. I have done that in the past but I had some lean years when I did not post much. This year was my best year for posting! I missed one day and I really don't know why (February 3rd). It was a leap year so it still looks like I hit every day...lol. I am engerized by posting daily and I look forward to hitting every day this past year.

First off, the Music Feed website now has my blog as #10 of the 30 best Obscure Music Blogs so I have lost some footing. I find that intersesting as I post daily but maybe because I really don't post on any other social media platform and promote it. I'm not really intersested in Twitter X and crap like that...if I have to start plastering this blog all over I may lose interest again. Now for the stats.

I started this blog 14 years ago and these are the top 20 all time views. Jerry Holmes holds steady at #1. A very diverse list with some Sub Pop 45s in the top 10, a few Christmas 45's and 2 Ventures 45s.

I don't have any gospel 45's ready so I will post another 2024 pickup. I have all the Velocity Girl albums but not all of their 45's so I was happy to get this cheap. Sub Pop remastered and reissued Copecetic this year but I was a LOSER and did not pick up their LOSER edition and it sold out. Now I will have to pay more $ for it when I do find it

United Travel Service- Gypsy Eyes/Echo Of You

I picked this one up in April at the same time as the other United Service Agency 45 I uploaded this year. The killer part of this is the test pressing of this 45 was in the same box...WHOA!

Day 9 of Christmas posts bring this wonderful little gem from a band that was from R.E.M.'s home town. I bought all the Dream So Real records back in the day. I had this one but who knows what I did with it and I picked it up again recently. I really need listen to their records again after the holidays

Day three of Christmas posts gives us a difficult to find Lou Christie Chirstmas 45 and it has the extra bonus of being autographed. I managed to score this one mail order very very cheap.  

I also want to congratulate Travis Hunter on his Heisman win. He has been such a joy to watch. I have suffered through 20+ years of mediocre /pathetic football from my Colorado Buffaloes and to finally have a coach and team that has heart and desire is so wonderful. May GOD continue to bless Coach Prime and the Buffaloes...SKO BUFFS!
