I have written a few times about when I attended Colorado State University in Ft. Collins in the late 1980's I would visit the Finest Records, a fantastic local record store that is sadly no longer with us. They always had promo 45s and used imports for $1...I remember they had stacks of this one. I purchased the first one pictured at the time and wish I would have bought all of them...buy hey, I was a broke college student that spent food money on records. Last year I picked up the 2nd one cheap but didn't realize until I was posting this that it was a different label pressing. I picked up the orange vinyl copy years ago by mistake. The story on that one is I was at Schoolkids Records in Raleigh and they had a used Supersuckers Sub Pop 45 for a buck. Of course I picked it up. When I got home not only was the Supersuckers 45 in the sleeve but this orange vinyl copy of this U2 45 was in the sleeve as well....BONUS! I can just imagine how much it would have been had it had it's proper sleeve. I am not a U2 historian by any means but I seem to remember when I bought the first U2 lp I was disappointed in the mix of Out of Control..it seemed so sterile and like the band was uninterested...I always thought this 45 had so much passion and excitement...I probably need to listen to the album again
