Psychic Motion - Big Teaser

I spent the day bopping around on the eternal record hunt. Bought about 1000 45's today cheap, pulled out about 100 I wanted and gave the rest to a friend, then dropped off a huge pile of 78's to another friend who collects those. I found some cool stuff today like an Eddie Cochran promo Liberty 45, the Who's My Generation LP, a Chuck Berry promo Chess 45, a promo Roy Orbison Crying EP with a picture sleeve, and a bunch of cheap cd's like a double of Smokey Robinson/Miracles, Stax box set, Chuck Berry, John Coltrane box set, a couple Sonny Rollins cd's and Small faces double cd. I'm sitting here grooving to Jorma Kaukonen's 1st solo lp which did not take me too long to find in the multitude of LP boxes I have.

Dyke And The Blazers - Shotgun Slim

I watched Transference last night and at the start of the movie a song was played on a turntable and I really like it. I looked it up to see what it was and from what LP and damn if I think I don't have that LP as it looked familiar. I think it was given to me a few months ago but I have no idea which box upstairs its in. I guess I have a Saturday project after all

Del Capris - Hey Little Girl

So I will be the first to admit that I am not the healthiest eater and I am fairly picky. I bought my wife a nutrabullet for Christmas and she uses it faithfully. She has tried to get me interested in it but I'm not interested in chopped up greens. Deciding I need to start eating better, I started making fruit smoothies and have been having them for breakfast this week. I have become a convert. Nothing but fresh bananas, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, a little bit of spinach and some ice. Pulvarize them together and poor the delicious drink

Jan Berry - I Can't Wait To Love You

The Boyz - Come With Me

Found a few goodies at an estate sale today including a red vinyl Bob Dylan promo 45. Here is a recent find

Sat at home today and was lazy lazy lazy. Dog is at my feet letting me know it is dinner time. Here is another one of those cheap Philips sleeves

Bobby Hebb - Love Love Love

My plan was to have a picture sleeve week last week but I had to suddenly pack the dog up and motor to Florida. The dog is not much of a traveler but he was overall fantastic for the 700+ miles we had to go. To make a long story short, I had to help my wife down there with her mother. I will say it is extremely depressing sorting out and discarding things that were accumulated over a life time. I did get a chance to hit a few flea markets and found some stuff but no fantastic finds.  I was sure glad to get home yesterday. This was the next item I was going to post so here goes.

Goldberg-Miller Blues Band - The Mother Song

I picked up this beauty years ago. It was one of those magical moments. There was an estate sale and it was cancelled due to rain. I went back by and the owner was there and said, "The sale will be next week". I asked if they had any records and she said, "I have a big box of 45's, come on in" Her father had been a DJ and sure enough was a box of 400+ 45's she sold me for $40. I have featured quite a few of them in this blog over the years. What was amazing about this one was the promo with the hard to find picture sleeve and of course the 2 page letter to DJ's. Of course Steve Miller went on to bigger fame.

Jan & Dean - From All Over The World

Theme song from the T.A.M.I. show. This was not the most popular Jan & Dean song but I think it is catchy and it comes with a fantastic picture sleeve.

Don And The Goodtimes - I Could Be So Good To You

I think I will have a picture sleeve week. Spent a little while yesterday scanning after I was able to get rid of an intense headache. This was not a big hit but it is a catchy little song

Remains - Once Before

I picked the stock copy of this 45 up in South Carolina a few weeks ago. I've had the original promo as well as the Sundazed reissue for years

Ventures Special Album Spot Commercial #2 Underground Fire

It was a scorcher today...103 in the town I worked out of today. I would normally say perfect beach weather to get wet but there has been a rash of shark attacks at the beach so I guess one would be best served to go to a pool. Only pool I have access to is my dog's wading pool and he's not sharing.

As I write this I am listening to a nice Gene Ammons Jazz album I picked up Saturday. Very relaxing. It was tempting to skip out on an upload tonight but I promised part 2 of the Ventures Radio commercial 45's. I love the announcer on this one... "A heavy liquid sheet of heat" or "stripped, a pagan subterranean ritual"...pretty heavy stuff, man.

A recent follower relayed there was a commercial released for the Hawaii Five O release so I guess there is another on my search list.

Sparkles - No Friend Of Mine

I picked up a few albums [for me] and some 78's [for my friend] at the flea market this morning. I came home, made some home made jalepeno poppers stuffed with cream cheese and grilled them for a snack while I listened to a Hank Williams LP I bought today. It's kinda funny mentioning Hank Williams as he is night and day different than tonight's upload. But Hank Williams has special meaning for me thanks to Grandpa. I think back to when we used to go to flea markets or yard sales and how he would buy everything vinyl up. I do know Grandpa would have easily given me the Sparkles.

I first heard this song due to the Ohio band The Cynics when they covered it. When I eventually heard the original it was a must find but has proven very illusive. Until now, that is. Thanks to my friend Craig in Maryland who sent me this unplayed 45 from 1967.

One last thought, I hate it that Divishare became funky and is unusable leaving me with years of posts that have no sound. If there are any past posts that anyone wants to hear, drop me a comment and I will gladly upload it.

The ENTRAMATIONS - MY LOVE

Wow this was a long long week and I'm happy it is the weekend. My friend sent me a box of records today including the 45 that will be posted tomorrow night....a fantastic slice of 60's punk that I have searched forever for. Tonight's 45 was from my find in South Carolina last week and is a South Carolina soul 45. I have a garage single on this label as well that I picked up last year.

Jeff Daniels - Switch Blade Sam

I've been a bit lazy with the uploads but maybe this rockin number will make up for it

The Ventures - Album Spot Commercial #1 The Horse

This was one of those really really long days. I had problems with my work computer and I am hoping it is not down for the count....that will really set me back with all the work I have to get done. But it is what it is...at least it's not my home computer.

I'm sitting here listening to the MOON lp again. Wow what a fantastic album. I had posted one of their singles previously and all I have to say is "Thank you Charlie" for giving me this lp...I'm glad it is not your cup of tea.
Tonight is one of the hardest Ventures 45's to find. Liberty put out to my knowledge 2 Promo radio spot 45' commercials with this one being the first. I'm lucky to have both but this one set me back a few clams.
I put both sides on this

The Newbeats - Thou Shalt Not Steal

I had a busy but productive day. Completed some yard work, recorded some 45's to the computer. Then a friend of mine called me and told me some things he picked up today and will be sending me. I am psyched as one of the 45's is something I have searched forever for and it will be here before the end of the week. I hope it is here in time for Saturday's post!!! Went to have dinner with another friend and his wife and on the way dropped off some 45's to another friend. He had a copy of the MOON lp on Imperial. I just finished listening to it twice. Fantastic!!!!

Here is one I picked up yesterday- I didn't feel like waiting too long. Soulful and encourages us to be honest. What better way to end a Sunday.

Models - Bend Me Shape Me

I had a very good day today. I got up early and ventured into South Carolina. I met a real nice guy and bought some good records from him that should make this blog someday

The Dorchesters - Just Look At Me

I had a real good day. Had to work at the clinic this morning but afterwards I went to an estate sale a friend told me about and picked up some wicked albums [A mint Ventures Walk Don't Run LP, a Mongo Santamaria boogaloo lp, a few Sandy Nelson LP's and a couple of weird things]. Came home and played them on a new Technica turntable I ordered this week and came on Thursday. I set it up in the living room and over the rest of the early evening I listed to the above lp's listed above, as well as a Ben Webster LP, a John Coltrane/Duke Ellington LP, a Warren Zevon LP, and a Social Distortion LP. Variety is the slice of life.

On a sad note, my record collecting friend Ray died on Thursday after a long illness. I met Ray at a yard sale years ago and over the years he filled my collection [and this blog] with many 45's.. Ray, you will be missed my friend.

Bill Hjerpe - Navigation Blues

My wife is right. I have Obsessive Compulsive tendencies (records). I am aware of it and it really hit home this morning while organizing some 45's. I found I had some Ventures duplicates with label variations for El Cumbanchero so I uploaded the pictures. How many variations do I need.
For tonight,  I always loved this one and recently picked up the picture sleeve for it. I also decided to upload a song to my other blog, the neglected one. http://sonicparaphernalia.blogspot.com/
