As Mick sang, "What a Drag It is Getting Old"...my body is tired from all the painting and projects I have been doing. I strained some ligaments in my leg so I had to dig out a knee brace. Cooper is not happy with no walks but I need to rest it. But at least I can see again as my new glasses came in so I picked them up after work.
I picked this killer 45 this weekend...pretty sure it is an OG..and in really nice condition too. Usually these early Chess 45's I find are beat and worn
Last year I posted a 45 from the Brains with a thought to do a deep album cut. I later realized my deep album cut was put out on a 45. I managed to score a copy within the last month so here you go. Treason is my favorite off that lp and it's so good that Mercury realized both these songs are A songs. Raeline is no slouch either!
Mail order arrival a few weeks back. Did the trade yesterday and picked up some cool ones that will make the blog soon
Well yesterday did not go as planned with another snag. I need to have some subfloor work done in the hall and living room before they can put down the new floor. It would have been nice if the company identified that BEFORE now. Now I need to find someone to do that first...company wanted to set up a return visit and I told them, "I'll call you after I find someone to do the repairs".
I was able to record a few 45's yesterday. Going to try for more today
Received a call the floor people are on their way...that will be one project down and several to go. That means no running around today but I do plan on recording some things to fill the possiblities back up. Tomorrow I am meeting up with a new friend to trade 45s

It rained like crazy yesterday and last night so no walk again this morning. I am hoping it dries out a bit as I need to mow before Saturday. Today's offering is Sam Cook's brother. I believe I picked this up a few years ago in one of my big buys. Yes I know the sleeve is not correct but it still looks cool.
I overslept this morning so no walk with Cooper. I woke up about 3am and thought I have more time...next thing I knew it was almost 6am. Sure, we could have walked but I guess I am a creature of habit. The painting marathon sure did take alot of me this past weekend.
I was hoping to bounce in quickly to my Eye clinic pick up a new eyeglass script tomorrow as I had an eye exam in February but they told me they did not do the exam for new glassess. I flipped out a bit as they can squeeze me in tomorrow afternoon but it won't be a quick trip and I am going to have to shell out another $100 after shelling out $116 in February.
I'm expecting to record some this weekend as I will be upstairs while they install the floors. I want to repost old soundz that are no longer there so I need to go through my old external hard drives.
I found this in one of my unsorted boxes earlier this month. Is this not boss! 45s like this make me realize I need to play a snipet of everything just in case it is massive...a few years ago I may have just passed this by without a listen.
So I busted my tail to get all the painting done this weekend for the floor installation yesterday. Well, no one shows up. I call the company and they say between 9am to Noon. Well, 2pm rolls around (couldn't call earlier due to a webex meeting) and I call the salesman. He says the office manager will get in touch with me. Well she calls and apologizes ... apparently some of the boxes of flooring were damaged in shipping and they had to have replacement sent and she called everyone last week (except me) that the installation would be delayed. I sure wish she would have called me as I would not have pushed it this last weekend. I guess I could be ticked off but mistakes happen and she was nice...whats the point of blowing a gasket. Looks like installation will now be Saturday and be one day instead of the planned 2 days. But that now blows my Saturday up. To compound yesterdays misery is that I was sitting in my chair working and dropped something, bent down to pick it up and bumped my head and broke my glasses (side frame). Now I am wearing old ones and need to take some time off this week to get new glasses.
This is not what I think of when I think of the T-Bones- I uploaded a 10" acetate of theirs years ago- I am not sure where I put it..you know you have too many records when that happens
So this was yesterday's post but I guess I was so focused on the job at hand that I forgot to finish it and upload...man, what a weekend... I finished the major painting on Saturday and finished the trim yesterday. I am not going to paint the doors yet and will take them off and paint them outside later. I slept for about 3 hours Saturday night and then bam was wide awake. I decided to clean a bit and laid back down to sleep. Heard the coffee pot start about 45 minutes later and was like "REALLY!" Dragged my sorry bones out of bed and off went Cooper and I for our walk. Finished painting and cleaning up around 5pm yesterday. I am not sure what time they will start on the floors today so I am sitting here drinking my coffee to relax. Cooper and the cats won't be happy for the next few days
Cooper and I started our walk this morning but it was a light rain so we didn't get far. Sitting here with coffee before I start my busy day with finishing painting. No ability to search today but I did go to the office yesterday and while taking lunch saw an estate sale. Bounced in and asked if they had records. They brought out box after box after box of 45's. Lots of country but did pick out a bag full of some rock and some of those MGM box sets like Roy Orbison, Righteous Brothers. The Orbison was empty but had the inserts so cool find.
I picked this one up a few months ago. Don't you hate it when you realize it came with a picture sleeve but is pretty rare so you probably won't ever get a copy. At least we have the fuzz
I know you are just in anticipation of another painting update. Let's just say it is coming together and I will not get to run around this weekend crate digging. I hope to start on the Kitchen tomorrow. I have filled one bedroom with living room items...it's packed and when I start moving things back out we are going to definately downsize and have a yard sale. I will need to find a space saving stereo console for my new turntable...I may buy another receiver like the new one so we can play blue tooth. Wife is even talking about us putting a big TV on the wall in the living room. Might be interesting to actually use that room for a change..lol. I also need to organize the home office so I can bring Cooper up with me as he will not like all the banging that will be happening.

I finished painting nearly 3/4 of the living room last night. I figure I will finish 3 of the walls tonight and will just need to do the wall with the fire place this weekend. Need to start on the kitchen and figure that will be Friday night. If painting was my main job I would starve.
I have a ton of soul 45s recorded awaiting a post. I teased a biggie for last week and then forgot about it...so it will appear tomorrrow...promise. I did dig out this sunshine pop 45 I recorded a few months ago..picked it up earlier this year
Painting was slow last night...I had to run to Lowes to pick up some more of the special rollers for the Wagner Paint Stick (bought the wrong ones last weekend). I am hoping I can get down to business the next 3 nights...I sure don't want to spend the weekend painting but I am under the gun

I didn't get as much painting completed yesterday as I wanted as I had to repair one plaster wall. Guess that is the price to pay for a 125 year old farm house. Looks like I will be finishing up in the evenings this week as they new floors are installed in 7 days. No recording 45's this weekend so maybe next week. Good thing I have some in the bag. This 45 came from a collection I bought 15+ years ago. Jim apparently worked at a local radio station and I bought the collection from his son. Jim covered the promo label nicely.
Once I get the house back in order I plan to revisit some past posts and update with soundz...lets call it a refinishing project so if you have any requests for past posts that no longer are there make a comment
Before I painted yesterday, I went to a couple of estate sales. The first one had a picture of some records and there was a pretty good LP shown. I had to wait in line to get into the estate sale, but I felt good about my chances as I judged the people ahead of me were not the record collecting kind (and I was right). Snagged the LP and 5 45's for a buck a piece. The 2nd one I bought 2 sealed lp's for a buck a piece at the house then they also were selling out of a storage facility and the person that owned that house had most of the units. There were supposed to be 45's in one of them the lady told me but she could not remember which one and I searched and searched to no avail as those units were packed full of furniture and other junk. I may go back today after I continue painting.
I picked this up a few weeks ago in a trade. Very obscure NY Gospel label- no information on this one but I suspect it is from 1961-1963.
I finished the living room ceiling yesterday and today involves the hallway and kitchen ceilings. I will need to go to Lowe's first to get the paint for the walls. But first I need to go to the city reyclable center to unload the enteratainment center. I have have had it for 35 years and I will be glad to have a more modern space saving unit for my living room stereo system. How many of you out there have more than one unit? I have one for the living room, one for the man cave and one for my home office. I think the new turnbable I picked up will end up in the living room.

Glad the week is winding down. I have a ton to get completed today if I want to take the full day off tomorrow. Very early Warren Zevon...I bought a 45 on ebay a few months ago and the seller threw this NM 45 in for free...how freakin cool is that!
