Tuff Darts - Who's Been Sleeping Here

I thought I would start the week out with a killer Powerpop 45. I find it difficult to believe this is not more in demand and is really cheap considering the prices for some of the Sire 45's out there (see Ramones from last week). I found their LP this past year and one can pick it up for hardly anything

Weirdly, I found this record in a bargain box in the UK when I was about six years old. My parents would sometimes treat me to a single when we were out shopping in town - probably as a bribe for me not to whine too much - and this was bought for me probably because they mistakenly thought it was the British group Darts.

Haven't heard it in years! Doesn't sound anything like I remember for some reason.

Is it better than you remember it worse

Better. I'd mentally filed it alongside wannabe punk, for some reason, and I can hear it quite obviously isn't. This is probably the first time I've heard it since about 1981 or something though. A long time...

Gotta agree with you about this true power pop classic. Back in the day, it jumped off the grooves of the LP - otherwise a dull effort with songs like "Your Love is Like (Nuclear Waste)". Ha ha. But "Who's Been Sleeping Here" is pure energy magic.
