I never really cared for Billy Idol's solo records but those Generation X 45's are a different matter! I am ready...ready to get our house in order and it starts today as I have a construction company replacing subflooring in my living room and hallway.
My feeble attempt at documenting my record collection and music obsession.

Tony Alvon & The Belairs - Boom - Boom - Boom / Sexy Coffee Pot
Here is another one that I have had prepared for awhile and have not had a chance to get to it. Remodeling is starting to click as I have subflooring going to be installed tomorrow, the bathroom in 2 weeks and then I can have the flooring company come in early October-Boom Boom Boom!

The Astronauts - Competition Coupe / Surf Party
The Astronauts were one of my first posts when I started doing this. It was almost guaranteed when I lived in Denver that I would find an Astronauts LP at a thrift store or yard sale...they were that plenty. Rarely found their 45's though. I picked up a book this year on Colorado bands/records and I was disappointed that the author decided to skip more major releases like the Astronauts. They deserved better!
I updated the 1st Astronauts with the tunes and you can listen here

James Jacobs And The Mighty All Stars - God's Love /Press On
Picked up a few 45's yesterday but nothing spectacular. But what is spectacular is this 45...another killer NC gospel 45. I've had this one for at least 20 years. A side reminds me of Unchained Melody. This one is not listed on 45cat or Discogs

Roman Chariot - Thank You Girl
I recorded this one over nearly 2 years ago and never got to it. I have a banger ready but it is a cover so I am holding off for another cover version week which is coming up soon. Yesterday was spent peeling wall paper in the bathroom..not finished. To give myself some positve vibes over all the work I have been doing I get to crate dig today..wish me luck

The Manhattans - Can I / That New Girl
It is strange to see posts being viewed at 100+ then dip for Robert Moore to 12! Help me with that one. I'm not planning on changing my method of madness of picking items to post but I'm curiouis why no one wanted to listen to Robert...very cool version of Harlem Shuffle. Maybe today will be the same...Friday's have been traditionally my day to post Soul 45s. The Manhattans were around forever..never were one of my favorite bands but some of their 45's on Carnival are spectacular. I also loved the creativeness of the label design.
Today is a day off so I have a massage therapy appointment and then need to remove wallpaper off the bathroom wall in preparation of the bathroom remodel at the end of the month. So, basically I am going to get some relief for my neck only to probably overexert myself and be back in pain..it is what it is. But I can look forward to crate digging tomorrow..found someone with over 8000 45's that I can go picking through...salivating already

Nick Lowe - All Men Are Liars
I never knew this one was on 45 until last month (have it on the cassette I bought in 1990). I snagged it in a heartbeat. Luckily I bought it from a US seller due to anything from overseas has a tarriff..personal experience as I tried to buy a 45 from the UK and was going to be charged a tarriff..
I've been kickin it with these posts lately but not yesterdays post...not much interest which is a shame as it is a pretty good 45.

Robert Moore - Harlem Shuffle / Searching For Love
I really need to get a new router for the home office....connecting issues are driving me crazy lately. Finally found a construction company that will fix my floors after dealing with other companies that d*cked me around. I will finish painting tonight and will have another project done. To celebrate, I have a plan to do some serious crate digging this weekend

The Rolling Stones - Star Star
I'm dragging this morning...neck was killing me last night and I didn't get a full night sleep. Massage Therapy appointment is not until Friday so it will be my tenz unit that keeps me functional. I recorded this one months ago so finally getting around to it. Released in Germany it hit #32 in their charts. B side was the hit in the US although I prefer the A side of this 45

KIng James with the Basic Things- Party Time / Simply Chance
I nearly finished the house repairs...I ended up stopping so I could watch some football...the Dolphins lost badly so I should have just finished the work...lol.
Today's post is something I have wanted to post for sometime but just never got around to recording it. I have had a lot of people approach me over the years to buy this from me...once you listen to it you understand. I don't know how long I have owned this or where I bought it
Another revision for you..

Pee Wee Crayton - I Need Your Love / You Know, Yeah
Yesterday was productive. I am not a handyman by any stretch of the imagination but I did get some repairs partially done...nothing extensive but I.will finish today. Not perfect but I couldn't seem to find any construction/handyman company to follow through...seems no one wants to work..
Today's post is a rare early Imperial...I recorded a bunch last week including gospel 45's but I didn't take pictures at the same time and of course I boxed them up (not in my database either) so I need to do some searching today...so inefficient!

The Turtles - You Baby
Ok, a little audible for this Saturday Morning. We lost Mark from the Turtles yesterday so today's post honors his legacy. The Turtles put out some of the catchiest 45s in the sixties and I will see about getting past ones back up on the blog. There is a movie I saw one time about when the Turtles met the Beatles...don't remember the title but it was a trippy little movie. Mark and Howard also highlighed their litigation with White Whale on line..check it out if you have not read it before...it's a wonder they kepy their humor after dealing with it. Thank you Mark and God Bless your family in this time of grief

Mel Torme - Cast Your Fate To The Wind
A departure from the usual. I felt like a little Jazz this morning. Me Torme, The Velvet Fog with his classic version of this song. I was suprised this did not hit the charts...as a matter of fact, he had few chart singles at all. I read that he referred to Rock and Roll as "Three Chord Manure."...that just cracks me up.

Saturnine 60 - Almost Impossible / Playing Backwards
I picked up this 45 in the last month. I had never heard of them and if I had it would have been something that I would have scooped up in 1994. It has that late 80's early 90's sound that I loved. As I listen to it I believe I hear influences of Galaxy 500, Teenage Fanclub...maybe Codeine? I think I need to find more of their stuff!
I have continued exploring the early days of the blog. I found my external harddrive with all my mp3's and luckily I had a file called blog uploads. It will make is so much easier as I decide what to upload. What is harder is getting in the boxes and re-taking pictures if needed. That is the thing, I can't upload everything. I plan to have the folder play on my computer as I work and will try to just pick things that blow me away again or are really obscure. Up first is a couple of RCA scorchers. Flying High is a cheap and easy 45 to find but it would probably be in my top 100 favorites if I could even narrow my favorites down to 100

Herman's Hermits - East West
There is something wrong with this post..what is it you may ask me? This is only my 2nd HH post...that is a travesty. When I first started collecting 45s when I was a young teen, I would listen to the oldies station and HH were always one of my favorites. I am missing 1 later MGM 45 otherwise I have all of them and in most cases I have promos and stock copies like this one. I picked up the promo to this one in the last 6 months. Nice short but sweet ballad that only was a #27 hit on Billboard. A side note, Morrissey did a cool version of this song...Wow! Oh, and I have another HH almost ready to go as I need to find the promo copy in my boxes...I wish I had a week just to organize these crazy record boxes!
I started my revisonist history yesterday and started back when I first started the blog in 2010 with 2 of my first posts. April Silva and The New Dimensions....check them out here. I found the portable hard drive that I has the MP3's...just may need to take some pictures again.

The Fantastic Baggy's - Anywhere The Girls Are / Debbie Be True
A quick upload before I get outside to finish some painting. Cooper enjoyed his early morning walk but it was a little chilly. Isn't it amazing how you get to September 1st and you can tell a change in the temperature.
I found this one in one of my boxes last week..not sure where I picked it up. Funny thing is I heard a cover version of the A side last week on the underground garage...I plan to record some more today and have some killer ones planned...may even dig into the archives
