Happy 2024. I hope everyone was safe last night. I fell asleep way before midnight but woke up exactly at midnight due to Cooper barking. Some neighbors were shooting off fireworks and Cooper is not a firework fan. I briefly saw it was 12am, calmed Cooper down and then went right back out. The past year was a good one for posts and I am excited for the following year. I posted every day last month and I thought I would start out the new year with a hot rod banger. The Matadors sang background on Jan & Dean songs and what is interesting about this song is the fact that Jan is singing lead. I pulled this out of the box and I had no Colpix sleeve on it. I have several big boxes of sleeves and it took me awhile to find me one but it sure looks great in this sleeve.

Love the matching sleeve. The female spoken word part is missing on the Jan and Dean version. My guess is she's either Shelley Fabares (girlfriend at the time of Lou Adler) or Jill Gibson, Jan's girlfriend who was also involved with their recordings.
I think I also read that the Iguanas on Dunhill were related to the Matadors.
